Substance Abuse and Mental Health Ombudsman Program
An ombudsman is a person who advocates on behalf of individuals (and families and friends) affected by mental health and/or substance abuse. If you or someone you know needs assistance in resolving an issue that is related to mental health and/or substance abuse, the Ombudsman could help you. We work to improve the quality of life for persons in need of substance abuse and/or mental health services throughout Wyoming.
What is a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Ombudsman?
The Ombudsman is an advocate, and a person who can help navigate the often complicated and confusing system of mental health and substance abuse services in Wyoming.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Ombudsman specifically helps with substance abuse or mental health issues.
How can we help?
- We can provide information about services available
- We can help with concerns or complaints about services
- We can answer questions about consumer’s rights
- We can help with difficulties accessing substance abuse and/or mental health care.
- We can work with agencies and organizations to resolve problems, provide information, help with discharge planning, or with care and treatment concerns.
